After an accident, your head is spinning: the car, the insurance, the calls, the paperwork. Your body can get lost in the shuffle, especially when you feel okay at first. But aches, stiffness, and headaches often show up days or even weeks later.

You don't have to figure this out alone. Here's how we can help.

What's going on?

Car accidents, slips, and falls can strain muscles, ligaments, and joints, and sometimes affect the nervous system, even when there's no obvious injury at the scene. Common symptoms after an accident include:

  • Neck pain or whiplash (see our Whiplash page)
  • Lower back pain
  • Headaches
  • Muscle soreness and stiffness
  • Dizziness, fogginess, or trouble concentrating

Because adrenaline can mask pain, getting evaluated early helps catch problems sooner and creates an accurate record of how you were affected.

Florida's 14-day PIP rule (don't wait)

Under Florida's no-fault auto insurance law (PIP), medical benefits typically apply only if you receive initial services and care within 14 days of the motor vehicle accident. A chiropractic physician can provide that initial care. Waiting can mean those PIP medical benefits are no longer available for that crash — even if pain shows up later.

This page is general education, not insurance or legal advice. Coverage depends on your policy and your situation. If you've been in an accident, call us promptly so we can get you evaluated and help you understand next steps. You can also check with your auto insurer.

  • Detailed, accurate documentation of your findings and progress for your insurance claim, and available to your attorney with your permission
  • Help understanding the process so you know what to bring and what to expect
